“Posted” is a fundraising project set up by 2 artists on the MA to raise funds for the upcoming London show at Safehouse 1 from 20 - 27 July 2021. We are encouraged to have at least one London show during our MA as part of the cirriculum, but this has not been possible during Covid 19 pandemic restrictions. Students have had to rely on the online platform and as a result @undertowprojects was set up for the MA students to externalise their work. Beyond the Boundaries was exhibited on this platform, (see an earlier post ‘The Introduction’ 17th March) and artist takeovers have become prominent as a result of the absence of any physical outlets.

But, for now, restrictions have lifted some what (not entirely), opening opportunities to show work. As a result, funding is required and “Posted” came into being. Run by @catherine.mccaw.art and @nanohourfineart , artists have been asked to submit as many works as they would like, measuring 6 x 4 in, or at the most 7 x 5 in. Each work is photographed and uploaded for participants to view and auction, starting at bids of £10.

“Posted” is explained on @posted_auction as

an online silent auction featuring 27 participating artists. The auction has a total of 61 works available. All proceeds help to fund an exhibition in London, for the MA Fine Art students at UCA Farnham. All works will be uploaded here for viewing, plus you can find all the works via our website.

The bidding period will open from June 23rd-28th. Going live at 3pm on the 23rd and ending at 7pm on the 28th.

To register to bid please secure your participation by signing up through our website.

These two submissions entered for “Posted” are an extension of my work which explores concepts of landscape and place, excavation, re-surfacing and re-purposing. Captured images of fields encompass notions of being in place and time. Juxtaposed with traces of found fragments these works explore an evolving relationship between object and land, seeking methods to examine animation and meaning once more.
